Privatisation made education costly, employment opps decreased: Akhilesh

Lucknow, May 8 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday that the result of the privatisation efforts of the useless Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is that not only education has become expensive, but employment opportunities have also reduced.

Talking to reporters after addressing a meeting of the Samajwadi Chatra Sabha, Akhilesh claimed that the BJP government, which came to power with the promise of providing cheap education and employment, has not only made education expensive by privatisation but has also created a serious crisis for jobs and employment.

He said, "Due to rigging in competitive examinations, they are being cancelled every day, due to which meritorious students are feeling cheated. The 2027 assembly election will be fought between Yogi versus competitors, in which the role of youth and students will be important."

The SP chief said that corruption is at its peak in the state. "UP ranks number one in the case of cyber crime in the entire country. No section of the society including doctors, IAS, IPS is escaping cyber crime. Even in these serious conditions, the government is sitting idle," he allegedd.

He claimed that "There is a complete lack of treatment in government hospitals. There is an AIIMS in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's area Gorakhpur, but the patients from there are also coming to Lucknow for treatment. This shows to what extent the medical system in the state has deteriorated."

Expressing his objection to the demolition of illegal encroachments in Pilibhit, Bahraich and Basti and other border areas, Akhilesh said that the poor and the oppressed are being affected by this process.

"The development that takes the state towards destruction cannot be accepted, but the line of destruction is imprinted on the hands of some people," he alleged.

He said that in view of the 2027 assembly elections, the workers of Samajwadi Chatra Sabha will visit the village booths and will make them aware of the power of PDA apart from anti-government activities.
