Punit Balan Group's Kolhapur Tusker team ready for third season of MPL

Pune Apr 18 ( UNI) Punit Balan Group's 'Kolhapur Tusker' team is ready for the third season of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), which has become popular in a short time.

In the player auction held for this league, 'Punit Balan Group' has given a chance to new talented faces along with the old players of the team.
Maharashtra Cricket Association' has started the 'Maharashtra Premier League' (MPL) on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This league, which started in 2023, includes six teams namely Pune, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sambhajinagar, Nashik and Solapur.
It also includes the team of Pune-based young entrepreneur and Puneet Balan, chairman of Puneet Balan Group, ‘Kolhapur Tusker’.
Meanwhile, the player auction process for the third season of the league was held in Pune. In it, the ‘Kolhapur Tusker’ team has retained 11 old players and has also included 18 new players in its team by bidding for them, said Balan in a press statement on Friday.
The ‘Kolhapur Tusker’ team will now have 29 players and this has become the super team in MPL. The highest bid for this team’s player, Rajneesh Gurbani, was 5 lakh 20 thousand. In it, the ‘Puneet Balan Group’ paid the highest bid and took this player into the team.

Tuskar team:
Old players- Rahul Tripathi (captain), Ankit Bavane, Atharva Dakve, Atman Pore, Siddharth Mhatre, Shrikant Mundhe (vice-captain), Shreyas Chavan, Sachin Dhas, Nihal Tusmad, Sumit Markali
New players- Rajneesh Gurbani, Atharva Vanve, Digvijay Jadhav, Anand Thenge, Deepak Dangi, Bhargav Pathak, Hardik Kurangle, Vedant Patil, Arya Shah, Vishant More, Sumit Dhengre, Ayush Ubhe, Rituraj Virkar, Shubham Mane, Nilay Newaskar, Rajveer Jagtap, Dhanraj Shinde, Dilip Malviya and Sunil Yadav.
"Our ‘Kolhapur Tuskar’ team performed well in both the seasons of ‘Maharashtra Premier League’ (MPL). We reached the finals in last year’s competition, but nature did not support us. Now the ‘Kolhapur Tusker’ team is ready for the third season. We have given new opportunities to talented and promising players in our team. It is expected that these players will not only bring great success to the Kolhapur team, but also make the country’s name shine by joining the Indian team," said Balan.
"The ‘‘Maharashtra Premier League’’ (MPL) will be concluded with great vigor this year as well. This
is an honest effort to provide opportunities to promising players from all corners of the state. Moreover, we will try to connect more and more viewers with this league. Compared to other state leagues, the ‘Maharashtra Premier League’ has received a very good response on digital media and we are sure that it will increase further this year," said rohit Pawar ( MLA and President, Maharashtra Cricket Association).
