Bhopal, June 3 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will kickstart the party's 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' (rejuvenation of the organization) in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. During his visit, he will attend four meetings, including the state organisation's Political Affairs Committee meeting, and provide guidance.
MP Congress President Jitu Patwari said the campaign aims to make the party's organisational structure from the panchayat to the district level more just and equitable. Around 61 observers will spend three months in MP, holding meetings with workers in every village.
Rahul Gandhi will address the Political Affairs Committee meeting at the state Congress headquarters. The meeting will discuss the state's political situation and future strategy. He will also interact with MPs and MLAs, and discuss people's expectations from their constituencies.
The programme includes a meeting with observers appointed by the Central Committee and state Congress representatives, district and block presidents. Security arrangements have been tightened in Bhopal ahead of Rahul's visit.
The Congress has been out of power in the state since 2003, except for a brief period from November 2018 to March 2020. Party strategists believe that strengthening the organisation can help challenge the ruling BJP in the state. After taking over as MP Congress chief, Jitu Patwari has been working to strengthen the party's organisation, and the 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' is part of this effort.
