Jaipur, May 7 (UNI) Following the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan, Rajasthan has been put on high alert.
Security arrangements have been beefed up at border cities, airports, and railway stations. Some border districts, including Bikaner, have declared holidays and postponed school exams.
Bikaner District Education Officer Dr Ram Gopal Sharma said all government and private schools in the district would remain closed on Wednesday, and home exams have been postponed. While staff members will attend schools as per schedule, students would be on leave.
Official sources confirm that holidays for officials and employees have been cancelled, and they have been instructed not to leave their headquarters.
Vigilance is being maintained at airports and railway stations in border areas, including Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, with close monitoring of suspicious individuals and luggage.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is closely monitoring the situation, in constant touch with senior officials. On Tuesday night, he held a video conference with top officials from Kewadia, Gujarat, to discuss a mock drill scheduled on Wednesday as per guidelines from the Union Home Ministry.
The CM directed officials to ensure coordination, strengthen disaster response systems, and implement citizen security protocols as per the ministry's guidelines.
