Rourkela Steel Plant registers excellent performance in major production areas in April-May 2025

Bhubaneswar, June 7 (UNI) The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has registered excellent performance across major production units during the first two months of the current financial year, 2025–26.
A release from RSP said that Blast Furnace-5 ‘Durga’ produced 552,027 tonnes of hot metal in the first two months, achieving its best-ever April-May performance. This marks an impressive 23.8 percent growth over the corresponding period last year (CPLY).
Similarly, with a production of 292,371 tonnes of slabs, CCM-3 recorded its best-ever April-May performance, reflecting a 24.5 percent increase over the CPLY.
The sinter plants collectively produced 1,198,655 tonnes of sinter, registering a growth of 11.1
percent over the CPLY. Sinter Plant-III recorded its best-ever April-May performance with a production of 629,110 tonnes of sinter.
In the downstream segment, Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) rolled a total of 435,234 tonnes of HR coils
to achieve its best-ever April-May performance, registering a growth of 16.8 percent over the CPLY.
The Sheet Shearing Line of HSM-2 rolled 45,316 tonnes of HR sheets, also achieving its best-ever April-May performance.
