Rupee down 16 paise against USD

Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) The Rupee remained weak on Thursday too, sliding 16 paise at 85.66 in opening session on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The impact of equity market was also seen on the local unit, as US government imposed 26 per cent tariff on Indian import.

The domestic unit was seen weak due to strong Dollar against other world currencies.

The Rupee recorded intra days high and low at 85.63 and 85.69 respectively, dealer added.
