SCCL’s global expansion begins with virtual inauguration of Naini coal mine in Odisha

Hyderabad, Apr 16 (UNI) The global expansion of State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) began with the inauguration of Naini coal mine in Odisha virtually by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister M Bhatti Vikramarka, here on Wednesday.

Bhatti Vikramarka, who handles the portfolios of Energy and Finance, has officially inaugurated the mine from the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM stated that SCCL opening a coal mine in another state for the first time in its 136-year-long history is a ‘golden chapter’.

With the inauguration of the Naine coal mine in Odisha, Singareni has embarked on its global expansion, he said.

Vikramarka said that starting a mine in Odisha is not only a joyous occasion for Singareni Company but also for the entire state of Telangana.

Although the coal block was allocated to Singareni nine years ago, delay in obtaining various permissions had led to postpone the inauguration until now, he informed.

A year ago, immediately after the people’s government came to power in the state, he said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and himself had met Union Coal Minister Kishan Reddy several times and secured full approvals for the Naini coal mine.

The Deputy CM mentioned that the special initiative taken by the Congress government enabled the project to commence within a year, demonstrating the people’s government's commitment to the development of Singareni.

He described the Naini coal block, inaugurated today in Odisha, as a first step in Singareni's expansion.

Singareni will expand from here to other states and countries as well and will soon be transformed into a global company, Vikramarka said.

On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to Kishan Reddy, who supported the inauguration of the Naini coal mine; and also Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from the Odisha region; Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi; local MLA Agasthi Behera; and other public representatives.
