Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday fell 113 pts at 80,002.40 in the opening session on profit booking by local operators.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 33.10 pts at 24,295.65 pts.
The equity market was seen as weak today, breaking the rally of seven sessions as selling was seen in Auto, Consumer Durable and Oil and Gas stocks.
The BSE Sensex registered an intraday high at 80,173.92 and an intraday low at 79,829.11, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,347.85 and a low at 24,239.45 pts.
The mid cap rose 0.23 pc and the small cap by 0.35 pc.
In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.24 pc to Rs 1858.40, M&M by 0.96 pc to Rs 2889.90, Eternal by 0.82 pc to Rs 237.25 and ICICI Bank by 0.80 pc to Rs 1412.60.
The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.78 pc to Rs 823.90, Nestle India Ltd by 2.72 pc to Rs 2500.40, Hind Unilever by 1.96 pc to Rs 2469.60 and Asian Paints by 1.10 pc to Rs 2480.
