Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied 2975.43 pts, breaching 82K level at 82,429.90, 5-month-high buoyant by ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) advanced 916.70 pts at 24,924.70.
The sensex regained 82K level after 5 month, first it was on December 16,2024.
Slumping over 800 pts in the previous session, the BSE sensex opened on a strong note at 80,803.80, surging 1349 pts. News of ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan bringing some relief to geographical nerves.
Temporary ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, positive trade talks between US and China also supported to the equity market.
Throughout the session, it was spurted 3041 pts at 82,495.97, days high, before closing at 82,429.90, surging 2975.43 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high at 24,944.80 and low at 24,378.85 pts.
All the stocks were in green. IT stock was in demand,up 6.74 pc followed by IT by 6.75 pc, Realty by 5.87 pc and , Technology by 5.21 pc.
The Mid cap rose 3.85 pc and Small cap by 4.18 pc.
In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.
The gainers were Infosys by 7.67 pc to Rs 1623, HCL Technologies by 5.97 pc to Rs 1663.70, Tata Steel by 5.64 pc to Rs 150.80, Eternal by 5.51 pc to Rs 239.45 and TCS by 5.42 pc to Rs 3628.80.
The losers were IndusInd Bank by 3.38 pc to Rs 790.20 and Sun Pharma by 3.14 pc to Rs 1690.
US Market, European market were seen strong.
Asian Market was also seen strong, Taiwan Weighted rose by 1.02 pc, Kospi by 1.15 pc and Shanghai Composite by 0.81 pc.
