Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Impact of the tariff on Indian importsby the US government was seen on Friday too, as the BSE Sensex slumped further by 551.13 pts at 75,744.23 in the opening session.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 230.90 pts at 23,019.20 pts.
All the stocks were in the red, especially the ones that include metal, auto and health care, which were badly hit.
Even the global market was also seen as weak.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 23,214.70 and low at 23,001.75 pts.
The mid cap fell 2.29 pc, and the small cap by 0.24 pc.
In 30 scrips, 6 advanced while 24 declined.
The losers were Tata Motors by 4.92 pc to Rs 621.85, Tata Steel by 4.30 pc to Rs 147.05, Sun Pharma by 4.03 pc to Rs 1701.60 and IndusInd Bank by 3.16 pc to Rs 687.
The gainers were HDFC Bank by 2.22 pc to Rs 1833.45, Bharti Airtel by 0.55 pc to Rs 1755.30, Bajaj Finance by 0.27 pc to Rs 8621.50 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.26 pc to Rs 2253.
