Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) Erasing losses, the BSE Sensex on Friday rallied 755.37 pts at 82,197.37 till noon trade, after the RBI announced a rate cut of 50 basis points in its Monetary policy.
At the moment, the Nifty too jumped 255 pts at 25,006.
Declining 113 pts at 81,328.39 pts in early trade, the BSE Sensex took a long jump as RBI reduced the repo rate by 50 basis pts to 5.50 per cent.
The Rs 2.5 lakh crore liquidity boost through the 100 basis points CRR reduction also boosted the market sentiment further.
The Sensex registered a day high and low at 82,236.32 and 81,140.11, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 25,008.85 and a low at 24,671.45 pts.
In stocks, all were in green. Realty surged more than 4 pc, while Auto, Bankex and Financial Services spurted more than 1 pc.
The mid-cap gained by 0.50 pc, and the small cap advanced by 0.41 pc.
The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 4.05 pc to Rs 9293.95, Axis Bank by 3.37 pc to Rs 1197.65, Eternal by 2.83 pc to Rs 263.70 and Maruti Suzuki by 2.78 pc to Rs 12,461.
The losers were Sun Pharma by 0.44 pc to Rs 1675.80 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.39 pc to Rs 2392.
