New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) The seminar committee of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce on Thursday organised Vimarsh, the 7th Biennial Convention on 'AI and Viksit Bharat: Harnessing the Tech Tailwinds of Aspirational India', at the India International Centre.
The convention aimed to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in driving India's economic growth and realising Vision 2047: Viksit Bharat. Principal Dr Jatinder Bir Singh welcomed policymakers, administrators, academicians, and industry experts, highlighting the advantages and challenges of AI in the Indian economy.
Chief Guest Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, and Commerce and Industry, emphasised India's potential to leverage AI in agriculture, education, and medicine. "India is well placed to tap the possibilities that AI offers in these domains," he said.
The convention featured distinguished guests, including Mr Vikas Kanungo, Senior Digital Development Consultant, World Bank Group, and Ms Sarika Gulyani, Senior Director and Head – ICT, Mobile Manufacturing, New Age Technology, FICCI.
Experts from various industries discussed AI's potential to drive economic growth through increased productivity, innovation, and efficiency. The convention concluded with pragmatic policy recommendations for AI integration in national development strategies and AI-driven initiatives for academia-industry-government collaborations.
The event provided a platform for stakeholders to identify key research gaps and encourage cross-sector initiatives aligned with India's economic and social goals.
