SL expresses condolences to Myanmar, Thailand following earthquake

Colombo, Mar 29 (UNI) Sri Lanka stands in solidarity with those affected by the earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism said in a statement.

The ministry offered condolences to those who have lost loved ones and wished those who have suffered injuries a speedy recovery.

The ministry requested Sri Lankans in Thailand and Myanmar to remain vigilant and contact the Sri Lankan embassies in Yangon and Bangkok.

Earlier on Friday, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Bangkok said that there have been no reports so far of Sri Lankan citizens in Thailand being affected by the earthquake, which caused tremors in Bangkok and other countries.
