Solidarity march in Tripura for Pahalgam terror victims

Agartala, Apr 23 (UNI) In a sombre outpouring of grief and solidarity, multiple candlelight processions and condolence events were held in Tripura on Wednesday to pay tribute to the victims of the brutal terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam,
The heinous assault, which took place on Tuesday, claimed the lives of 28 tourists, including two foreigners, and left many others injured.
The Tripura Pradesh Congress held a candlelight march before the Pradesh Congress Bhavan in Agartala to honour the martyrs.
Leaders of the party strongly condemned the attack, calling it a direct assault on India’s sovereignty.
“This is a national tragedy. Terrorist has no religion, and the entire nation must unite to fight terrorism,” said Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress President Neel Kamal Saha.
The Congress leaders also urged the central government to ensure a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victims.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) also organised similar events in this state capital, denouncing the terror attack and calling for national unity against violence and extremism.
The CPI(M)'s Sabroom divisional committee in South District held a silent procession through the town's main roads, with participants carrying posters that read “Stand against terrorism” and “Demand justice for the killing of innocent lives.”
In Khowai District, the DYFI and TYF, the youth wing of the Left Front, jointly organised a silent march, combining their tribute to the victims with broader calls for action on unemployment, corruption and anti-drug measures
Meanwhile, the School of Science held a tribute event here. Principal Abhijit Bhattacharjee led the staff and students in observing a moment of silence and praying for the eternal peace of the deceased souls.
