SP will take along allies in assembly elections: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Apr 29 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said on Tuesday that the INDI alliance is strong in Uttar Pradesh and being the largest party in the 2027 assembly elections, the SP will take along its alliance partners.

At a programme here, Akhilesh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) rigging will not work in the 2027 assembly elections. "The BJP has adopted all the tricks of dishonesty in earlier elections. Rigging in the voter list, getting votes cut, votes deleted, discrimination in the posting of officers. The public has come to know all their tricks," he said.

He said that the SP has defeated the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. "Whoever wins the Lok Sabha elections in UP, its government is formed in the state," he said.

The SP chief said that in the INDI alliance in UP, the election will be fought under the leadership of the party which is strong in whichever state. "This was the basis for the formation of the alliance," he said.

He said that democracy, Baba Saheb's Constitution and social justice are big priorities for the SP. "The fight of the socialists is with the BJP and its ideology organisation, which works on the policy of divide and rule like the British. BJP promotes communal politics. Those who had no identity of their own before 2017, are the same people who say that UP had no identity before 2017," he said.

Akhilesh said that world class work was done for development and infrastructure in UP under the Samajwadi government. "If the terrorist attack in Pahalgam had not happened, the two projects that the Prime Minister was coming to Kanpur to inaugurate, the Neyveli Lignite Power Plant for electricity and the Kanpur Metro, are the contribution of the Samajwadi government," he claimed.

He said that the foundation stone of the Neyveli Lignite Plant was laid during the time of the SP government in the state and the UPA government at the centre. He claimed that all the metros built in the cities of UP were built during the SP government.

The SP chief said that the BJP government builds expressways even in dreams. "They put up big hoardings and publicised that 17 expressways are being built in the state. When we counted and raised questions, the government said that 6 expressways have been built, 7 are proposed. So is the BJP government building the remaining four expressways only in dreams?," he said.

He said that law and order is in shambles in Uttar Pradesh. "The attack on MP Ramji Lal Suman and the threats he is receiving are a challenge to those who claim zero tolerance towards law and order. This challenge is to the state government, UP Police and DGP. Law and order is being openly violated in the state," he said.
