Sports necessary to stay healthy: Anandiben

Ayodhya (UP), May 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of state universities Anandi Ben Patel on Friday said that sports are very important for staying physically and mentally healthy.
While addressing the inauguration of the 22nd All India Inter-College Sports Festival organised at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sports Council of Acharya Narendra Dev Agriculture and Technology University, the Governor said that there are two types of sports, first is political playground and second is sports field.
She said, "Out of both the games, you have to decide which game you like. The one who plays will flourish. All of you have to flourish and take the country forward. Only when there is heat in the body, will you be able to win in the sports field. To make India developed, we have to work together."
Patel said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi started Khelo India in which the youth participated enthusiastically and got a chance to move forward. "Playing the game according to the rules teaches us to move forward. 40 percent women are also participating in every sports competition held in the university, which is a matter of happiness for all of us," she said.
She said, "80 percent of women are getting medals in the convocation ceremony, which is a matter of concern for all of us. Both men and women will have to come forward in every field."
She said that if you want to join the army, if you want to see the country progress, then sports is very important. She appealed to every university to organise sports competitions among the children up to intermediate in their area, this will make India strong and move forward.
