Startoon Labs inks MoU with Medplus

Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) Startoon Labs Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based medical device R&D and manufacturing company with a focus on joint and muscle health, on Thursday announced that it has signed an MoU with Medplus, a prominent pharmacy retail chain, to initiate the Pheezee assessment in the Medplus diagnostic centres.
Medplus Diagnostics offers pathology and radiology services. It is a part of Medplus health services, which is known for its pharmacy retail chain.
It is now introduced the muscle and joint health diagnostics by using the Pheezee device.
Pheezee, a Hyderabad startup’s joint health monitoring device and USFDA listed, is a wearable prognostic device that can monitor and track the functional recovery of patients undergoing physiotherapy.
By generating AI-enabled reports that include valuable insights on affected muscles, along with the impressions and personalized recommendations, it helps the physiotherapist with the right assessment, thereby aiming for faster and effective patient recovery.
With the Pheezee introduction, Medplus now offers a cutting-edge solution to patients and healthcare professionals seeking accurate and timely intervention. Using Pheezee, it can do a pain diagnostic test and give a report which can identify the root cause of pain, especially for ageing and posture-related pains.
Pheezee test is useful for patients suffering from joint and muscle pain. It helps to identify the exact root cause of the pain and pinpoint the affected muscle.
Instead of treating the entire joint, it can be useful for the doctors to treat the affected muscle only.
Pheezee test can be taken by people having musculoskeletal pains and neurological conditions.
A study focusing on individuals aged 45 years and above reported that around 50 percent experienced joint pain, about 33 percent suffered from back pain, and around 20 percent had ankle or foot pain.
A national survey states that the most commonly affected sites were the knee (8.5%), back (6.2%), ankle (3.8%), shoulder (3.2%), elbow (2.9%), hand/wrist (2.9%) and neck (1.5%).
A study among IT professionals in India reported that 64.9 percent experienced neck pain, 19.8 percent experienced wrist pain and 42.1 percent reported shoulder pain.
Disclosing this in a release here, Dr Srivani, Physiotherapist, said that Pheezee is a powerful device that evaluates muscle function and nerve communication that enables precise diagnosis conditions such as joint pains and muscle disorders.
Pheezee test is a non-invasive test for joints, which brings out the important diagnostic physiological information which is not captured in the prevalent imaging diagnostic tools like X-Ray, MRI and CT scans.
A Pheezee Test report, along with the other static image reports, gives a detailed and comprehensive picture of the joints, adding great value to Orthopedics and Neurologists during their clinical diagnosis and patient counselling, said Suresh Susurla, CEO and Co-founder of Startoon Labs.
