Bhubaneswar, Apr 10 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police, with the help of Bolangir District Police, has uncovered an illegal fake currency racket and arrested two individuals.
STF sources said on Thursday that the two accused—identified as Mohammad Sabir and Netra Raut—were apprehended on Wednesday night during a joint raid conducted by the STF.
Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs.49,000, along with other incriminating materials, were recovered and seized from their possession.
A case has been registered at Titilagarh Police Station under Sections 178, 179, 180, and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for necessary legal action against the accused.
Investigation is ongoing.
