Stunning Art Towers unveiled at Thiruvananthapuram Airport

Thiruvananthapuram, July 3 (UNI) Travellers arriving at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport are in for a visual treat.
In a vibrant celebration of Kerala’s rich heritage, the gateway towers at the Chakkai overbridge have been transformed into dazzling Art Towers, each narrating a unique cultural story.
Blending tradition with modernity, these vivid paintings will showcase the spirit of Kerala. Passengers will now be greeted by a cascade of colours and culture, turning every arrival into a memorable experience.
Each of the four towers features a unique theme:
Tower one showcases a tribute to Kerala’s traditional performing arts. From the fierce expression of Theyyam to the grandeur of Kathakali, and the grace of Oppana, Margamkali, Pooram, and Ratholsavam, the tower is a celebration of timeless traditions that have mesmerised the world.
Tower two gives a feeling of journey through Kerala’s literary and wellness legacy. Beginning with Thunchath Ezhuthachan, the father of the Malayalam language, the tower includes tributes to the Malayalam script, Kalaripayattu, Ayurveda, and the thrilling spectacle of Vallamkali (boat races).
Tower three sees like a cultural window into Thiruvananthapuram itself. Iconic landmarks such as the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Temple Procession through airport, Beemapally, Palayam Church, and artworks of Raja Ravi Varma take center stage, along with glimpses of the city’s majestic palaces.
Tower four represents modern Kerala. From the impressive Legislative Assembly and the pioneering Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre to Technopark, Napier Museum, and the upcoming Vizhinjam International Port, the tower blends progress with pride.
The entire project was brought to life under the artistic direction of renowned artists Ambili Thekkedathu and Sanu Krariyely, founders of Deva Creations, Ottapalam. With her leadership, the towers have evolved into immersive canvases that honor Kerala’s vibrant identity.
With this initiative, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport doesn’t just welcome passengers, it introduces them to Kerala’s heart and soul, painted in bold strokes and rich hues. UNI DS ssp
