Teenager shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Meerut

Meerut (UP), Apr 2 (UNI) A teenager and a student of class 10th was shot dead by unidentified persons in the Ganganagar area of Meerut district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that the deceased, identified as Prashant (15), was a resident of Abdullahpur village. "His father, Bijendra, informed the police that Prashant left home the Tuesday night on pretext of going to the gym, but didn't return. The family received information from the police about the recovery of Prashant's body," they said.
Police sources said that a pistol found at the crime scene had the word 'Baba' inscribed on it. "The police are examining whether Prashant had any disputes or if the family had any prior enmity that could have led to the murder," they said.
Circle Officer (Sadar) Shiv Pratap Singh said that police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to determine if Prashant was accompanied by anyone. "The police have also questioned the gym operator for additional leads. A case has been registered against unidentified miscreants on the basis of the family's complaint," he said.
