Telangana: ACB traps ASI for accepting Rs 50,000 bribe

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
The Accused Officer (AO), K Madhu Sudan Rao, an ASI at Medchal Police Station under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, was caught red-handed by ACB’s Hyderabad City Range-2 Unit around 1830 hours on Monday.
He allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant in exchange for not taking coercive action against him and for settling a payment dispute between the complainant and his customers, according to a statement released by the ACB on Tuesday.

Chennai, Nov 9 (UNI) Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) Secretary Dr. M Ravichandran on Saturday launched a web portal of Marine Microbial Repository of deep sea microbes in India under the Deep Ocean Mission at NIOT, Chennai
Speaking at the 31st NIOT Foundation Day here, he appreciated the work undertaken at NIOT, highlighting that much of the domains that NIOT was working in were niche engineering and technology areas, and stressed that the country looked up to them
He also exhorted NIOT to undertake capacity building by not only having collaborative research with the academia but also with industry in developing vertical experts and expertise and in converting ideas to products and in progressively converting imports to indigenous development.
