Hyderabad, Mar 30 (UNI) Telangana celebrated Ugadi, the Telugu New Year, on Sunday with the customary zeal and happiness.
Devotees thronged temples to offer special prayers, while several temples organised recitations of the Panchangam (almanac) to mark the festival.
Hindu households were tastefully decorated with flowers, mango, and neem leaves, and families prepared special Ugadi delicacies, including the sweet-bitter Ugadi Pachadi, symbolizing the different phases of life.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, among others, extended their greetings on the auspicious occasion.
