Hyderabad, Apr 28 (UNI) A day after the Peace Talks Committee (PTC) urged the CM to take the initiative peace talks between Union government and Maoists, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met former Minister K Jana Reddy at his residence here on Monday to discuss Operation Kagar and naxals issues and the measures to be initiated over the issues.
The Committee members, including Convenor Justice Chandrakumar, professor Haragopal, professor Anwar Khan, Durga Prasad, Jampanna and Ravi Chander, who submitted a memorandum to the CM , had requested him to convince the Union government for a ‘ceasefire’.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister had informed the Committee members that his government is looking at Naxalism only from a social perspective and does not consider it as a law and order issue.
Accordingly, the Chief Minister, who went to the former Minister’s residence, discussed different aspects pertaining to ceasefire, peace talks and sought his suggestions.
The CM had earlier also told the committee that the state cabinet will also discuss the issue and take a decision soon.
Advisers to Telangana Government K .Keshava Rao and Vem Narender Reddy, were also present.
