Telangana Govt Plans to empower women Self-Help Groups through RTC bus leasing initiative

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) The Telangana government has announced a new initiative to empower women's self-help groups by facilitating bank loans and enabling them to lease buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).
In response to the growing demand for an increased number of buses across the state, the TGSRTC has decided to provide employment opportunities to women groups by hiring buses purchased by them. Initially, the scheme will be implemented in two districts on a trial basis.
A high-level meeting was held at the Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women, and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka. The meeting, attended by senior officials, discussed the procedures for allocating RTC rental buses to women's associations.
