The SIT is likely to focus on the intercepting of phone calls of several political leaders including the then TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and his family members, Telugu film actors, celebrities, judges and journalists.
According to investigators, one of the accused confessed to intercepting the phone calls of a High Court judge, political leaders, journalists, and members of civil society.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar had earlier said the statement given by Prabhakar during the inquiry must be made public. Because it is not just about the Telangana CM – he tapped the phone of congress, BJP, BRS leaders, judges and even mine.
The public has the right to know under who instructions the phone tapping was done, he added.
