TN: Two electrocuted, another suffered electric shock while renovating bathroom

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), Mar 18 (UNI) Two men, including a hockey player were electrocuted and another person suffered electric shock, when they came in contact with a live wire from electric meter during renovation works of a bathroom of a house at Kokkirakulam locality in Tirunelveli on Tuesday.
Police said the deceased were identified as G.Velayutham (30), a hockey player and Ravi (23). A construction worker Mariappan, who suffered electric shock, was admitted to Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital.
Velayutham’s father Gajendran was renovating the bathroom of his house.
Velayutham was electrocuted, when he accidentally touched the live wire from the electric meter mounted on the wall, while Ravi, who attempted to save Velayutham also suffered electric shock. Both of them died on the spot.
Mariappan also suffered electric shock, while attempting to rescue the deceased.
Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Crew-9, comprising India born Woman Astronaut Sunita Williams and three others, completed the agency’s ninth commercial crew rotation mission to the International Space Station (ISS), splashing down safely in a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida, in the Gulf of America on early Wednesday morning at 0327 hrs (IST).
