Trough now extends from North Madhya Maharashtra to Gulf of Mannar: Met

Amaravati, Apr 18 (UNI) The trough that was present from Marathwada to the Gulf of Mannar on Thursday now extends from North Madhya Maharashtra to the Gulf of Mannar, passing through Marathwada, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level, according to the Meteorological Center.
In its daily weather report issued on Friday, the Centre stated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging from 40–50 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next five days.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also likely at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.
Maximum temperatures are expected to gradually rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius over the next four days, with no significant change anticipated between April 21 and 23.
Rainfall was recorded at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.
The highest temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius was reported at Anantapur in Rayalaseema on Thursday, the report added.
