Trump's unilateral ceasefire announcement indicates failure of India's foreign policy: Deepankar

Patna, May 23 (UNI) The CPI (ML) on Friday alleged that the unilateral announcement by US President Donald Trump on ceasefire post Operation Sindoor showed complete failure of the Narendra Modi government's foreign policy.
National General Secretary of CPI (ML) Deepankar Bhattacharya said here that Operation Sindoor was stopped after ceasefire was declared unilaterally by Trump. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his public speech on several occasions after ceasefire , did not contradict the role of Trump on the issue, he added.
"Silence of PM Modi on a sensitive issue like unilateral announcement by Trump on ceasefire is a sensitive issue and it is a complete failure of foreign policy of Narendra Modi government", the CPI(ML) leader said adding that no country in the world had openly extended its support to Operation Sindoor launched by the Armed forces of India. Demand of the opposition for convening a special session of parliament on the issue was also not accepted by the government due to its failure in handling the post operations scenario, he added.
"No terrorist involved in Pahalgam attack has been arrested so far", the CPI (ML) leader said adding that instead of going to Pahalgam after the terror attack, Prime Minister Modi preferred to visit Madhubani district of Bihar for issuance of warning against terrorists operating from Pakistan and also those patronising it. Those involved in Pahalgam attack should have been arrested but it was ignored by government, he lamented.
"Narendra Modi government did not take any step to provide relief to dependents of those who were killed in strike by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor", CPI (ML) leader said adding that military Jawans martyred in Operation Sindoor should also be given adequate compensation by the government.
