Two charred to death in factory fire in Lucknow

Lucknow, May 3 (UNI) Two persons, including the owner, were charred to death when a fire broke out in a food factory in the Sarojini Nagar area of the state capital, Lucknow, on Saturday, a police spokesman said here.
Sources said that at around 04.30 pm, information was received by Sarojini Nagar police that a fire had broken out in Sweety Food Factory in Ganganagar Amausi. "On this information, Assistant Police Commissioner Krishna Nagar and Inspector Sarojini Nagar, along with the local police, PRB and Fire Brigade, reached the spot immediately and launched relief and rescue work," they said.
He said that the factory owner, Akhilesh Kumar's son Hrithik, who was present on the spot, said that bakery work was done in the factory. "Hrithik told the police that the factory had been closed for the last year, yet one or two people may be trapped inside because welding work was going on inside," he said.
