Maharajganj (UP), May 2 (UNI) Two persons were killed and five others were injured when a car collided with a loaded tractor-trolley in Shyam Deurwa of district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Friday.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Thursday night when seven persons from Kaithwaliya of Pipraich police station area of Gorakhpur were coming by car to attend a wedding ceremony in Padri village under Kotwali police station of Maharajganj district. "As the car reached Bashiya Khurd village under Shyamdeurwa police station, it collided with a tractor-trolley," they said.
Police sources said that the collision was so severe that the car was shattered into pieces. "The driver and another passenger got stuck in the car in the accident. All the injured were taken to the community health centre where doctors declared driver Alim Khan and Gobari Kannaujiya, both residents of Tura Bazar under Pipraich police station, dead," they said.
Police sources said that Abhijeet, Ankit, Bind, Hridayesh and Manohar, all residents of Kaithwalia, were injured in the incident.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Somendra Meena said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. "The relatives of the deceased have been informed," he said.
