Türkiye wants to negotiate with US to lift additional tariffs: minister

Ankara, Apr 4 (UNI) Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said Friday that Türkiye wants to negotiate with the United States to lift the 10-percent additional tariffs.
"Given the 2.4-billion-US dollar surplus in favour of the U.S. in bilateral trade for 2024, we would like to discuss with the US Department of Commerce and Trade Representative the possibility of removing the 10 percent tariffs on Turkish exports," Bolat said in a statement, adding US President Donald Trump has already indicated an openness to negotiations on these tariffs.
He noted that a visit to the United States is planned for May, during which Turkish officials will meet with their US counterparts to negotiate tariff issues.
