Abu Dhabi/Kabul, Apr 6 (UNI) As Afghan nationals continue to face harassment by state authorities in both Pakistan and Iran, the UAE has offered support in helping in the return of Afghan migrants to their country.
Emphasising cooperation and assistance for those affected by deportations and harassment, the UAE’s Special Representative, Saeed Mohammed Khalfan, met with Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Head of the Taliban regime in Kabul, and said that Abu Dhabi is ready to cooperate and provide assistance to deported migrants from neighbouring countries.
The two officials held a meeting on April 5, with Khalfan placing emphasis on strengthening and expanding the bilateral relationship between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, Khaama reported.
He reiterated the UAE’s willingness to provide assistance and work together on various issues, including the challenges faced by returning migrants.
Kabul has offered its gratitude to Abu Dhabi for its support in helping resolve the Afghan migrant crisis, which continues to still affect hundreds of thousands of Afghan nationals living in uncertainty.
