Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Uniform for the teachers in government-run schools in Maharashtra is under consideration, and the state government will shortly issue a directive in this regard, sources in the state education department said here on Saturday.
In this regard state School Education Minister Dada Bhuse had earlier indicated that the School Education department was considering such a move where district authorities can decide dress for teachers in government schools.
While no decision has been taken yet, Bhuse said, “We are looking at the possibility of bringing such a policy. But right now the department is studying various aspects before taking any decision. The government is not going to decide on any one uniform for teachers across the state. But we are exploring if uniform for teachers can be decided at the district or taluka level, so that the teaching community has a particular identity in that village or locally."
