UP: Siblings die after being hit by bus in Kasganj

Kasganj (UP), Mar 18 (UNI) Two minor siblings died after being hit by a roadways bus in Kasganj area of Kasganj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that the incident took place when two siblings, including a brother and a sister, were going to appear in an examination.

"Near Mohanpur village, a speeding bus hit the duo, killing them on the spot," they said.

Police sources said that Sumit (15) and his sister Gunjan (14) were residents of Afzalpur village under Kasganj police station.

"While Gunjan was a student of class 8, Sumit studied in class 9. Both the brother and sister were going to give their exam in Rani Avanti Bai College of Mohanpura from their village," they said.

Police sources said that the roadways bus driver fled leaving the bus on the spot after the incident. "

The family members of the deceased staged a demonstration protesting against the incident on the spot. "The police reached the spot and pacified the people," they said.
