UP: Youth beaten to death in Amroha

Amroha (UP), May 11 (UNI) An 18-year-old youth was killed by beating and hitting with a shovel for protesting against molestation of his cousin in Hasanpur area of Amroha district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, a police officer said here.
Circle Officer (CO) Hasanpur Deep Kumar Pant said that Amrish Kumar, a resident of Ghulampur village, was killed by hitting him with a shovel on the way to the field. "On the complaint of the victim's family, a case of murder has been registered against six persons and action is being taken. All the six people named in the murder case are residents of the village," he said.
He said that it is being said that the deceased had gone to a wedding in a neighbouring village on May 8. "There he had a dispute with some people when he protested against the molestation of his cousin. Police are investigating the matter," he said.
