UP: Youth dies in celebratory firing in Mahoba

Mahoba (UP), Apr 4 (UNI) A 28-year-old youth died after being shot in celebratory firing at a private function in Kabrai area of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Friday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vandana Singh said that on Thursday night, a programme was held at the house of Virendra Verma, a resident of Rani Laxmi Bai Nagar on Pahara Road in Kabrai town. "It is being said that during the dance and singing, Nand Kishore Kushwaha suddenly fired a bullet from the licensed revolver of Om Prakash Dwivedi, who was present there, in the scuffle between the friends for celebratory firing," she said.
She said that the bullet hit the chest of Islam, a resident of Ilahi Purva of Gyodi. "Islam was immediately taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The deceased, Islam had come to Virendra Verma's house on invitation," she said.
