UP: Youth stabbed to death in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur (UP), May 13 (UNI) A 25-year-old youth was attacked with a sharp weapon and killed allegedly over personal rivalry in Sadar Bazar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Tuesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Devendra Kumar said that late on Monday night the police received information that Kaushal alias Mangal, a resident of Behta Mazra of village Shahbaznagar in the area, was lying injured on the side of the field.
"On receiving the information, the police admitted the injured youth to the medical college where he died during treatment," he said.
He said that investigation revealed that the youth was murdered due to personal enmity.
"A suspicious youth has been detained in this case and is being questioned. The case will be revealed soon," he said.
The family members of the deceased said that Kaushal had a dispute with his cousins Santosh and Puttu at a wedding ceremony 15 days ago. Santosh had threatened to kill Kaushal.
It is being said that when Kaushal was returning from the field, Santosh and Puttu stabbed Kaushal to death on the way. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot.
