VHP to hold statewide protests in Telangana on Saturday

Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Friday announced that it will hold statewide protests in Telangana on Saturday to condemn the violence against Hindus in West Bengal.
In a statement, VHP National Spokesperson Ravinutala Shashidhar and Telangana State President Bhojan Palli Narasimha Murthy alleged that brutal attacks were being carried out against Hindus in the name of the Waqf Act, fueled by vote-bank politics.
They demanded the immediate imposition of President's rule in West Bengal and strict action against extremists allegedly targeting Hindus, especially in border areas near Bangladesh.
Protests will be organised at all district headquarters, and petitions will be submitted to the respective district collectors, with a request to forward them to the President of India.
The VHP appealed to the Hindu community to participate in large numbers.
