Vijayendra accuses Siddaramaiah of blaming Centre

Bengaluru, June 14 (UNI) BJP state president and MLA Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Saturday accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of sitting in Delhi and engaging in conspiracies and political games to blame the Central government.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Vijayendra said, "The Chief Minister, to his credit, participated in the 16th Finance Commission meeting in Delhi, and we appreciate that he represented the state's interests there. But earlier, the Congress and CM himself had hesitated to attend, prompting us to ask whether he is the CM of Karnataka or merely a Congress CM."
Vijayendra added, "Although his participation in Delhi is welcome, it’s unfortunate to see the Chief Minister constantly complain about the Centre. He says Karnataka gets only Rs 13 for every ₹100 it gives, but that is only a half-truth. Development work in the state has stalled, and there is no money to implement the guarantees. So they are blaming the Centre to cover their failures."
He alleged that funds allocated by the Centre are not being properly utilised by the state. Moreover, the state government is cutting down on central schemes. "This is nothing but an attempt to deflect attention from its own failures by unfairly criticising the Centre."
On the caste census issue, Vijayendra noted, "About three months ago, due to our consistent pressure, the state government was on the back foot. Siddaramaiah had then promised to implement the Kantharaj report and even said it would be tabled in the next cabinet meeting. But after 4–5 cabinet meetings, nothing happened. Ten years have passed; the data is outdated and unscientific. It must be redone properly."
Vijayendra also accused the Congress government of misusing the anti-communal task force, stating, “I recently visited Dakshina Kannada along with our party leaders and met the district officials including the DC, commissioner, and SP. This so-called task force is not for communal control but is a front to target Hindus and intimidate BJP workers. We will not bow to this.”
