Vijayendra holds Cong responsible for suicide of BJP worker

Bengaluru, Apr 4 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Friday held the Congress government responsible for the suicide of party worker Vinay Somaiah, alleging political harassment and abuse of power, and demanded a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
Calling the death "a very painful matter," Vijayendra said, "It seems likely that Vinay committed suicide due to a politically motivated FIR against him. Since the Congress government came to power, BJP workers have been subjected to harassment, pressure and atrocities."
Somaiah, 35, a native of Kodagu, allegedly committed suicide at the BJP office in HBR Layout in Bengaluru on Friday. He had been arrested two months ago by Madikeri police over a complaint filed by Congress worker Tennera Maina.
