Pratapgarh (UP), Mar 21 (UNI) A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest and absconding for the last eight years was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police from Mandhata area in Pratapgarh district on Friday, an official spokesman said here.
The spokesman said that the STF team was tipped off that Tabrez, wanted in the Gangster Act case and was absconding for the eight years, was coming to Manjhigawan bridge. "Acting on the tip off the STF team arrested the accused from the spot on Friday afternoon," he said.
He said that during interrogation Tabrez revealed that in the year 2016, he along with his brother-in-laws killed Jameel Ahmad in Rampur Bantari village over personal rivalry. "To evade arrest Tabrez fled after the murder. During this period he was working as truck driver in different districts of Madhya Pradesh," he said.
