Waqf bill passed in haste, BSP does not agree with it: Mayawati

Lucknow, Apr 4 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday alleged that the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament in a haste which is not a right step and her party does not agree with the bill.
Taking to X, Mayawati wrote, "After listening to the ruling and opposition parties on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Parliament, the conclusion is that if the central government had given some more time to the people to understand this bill and had cleared all their doubts before introducing this bill, it would have been better."
She said, "But the sad thing is that the government has passed this bill in a hurry and this is not right and now if the government misuses this bill after it is passed then the party will fully support the Muslim community that is the party does not agree with this bill."
