Won't allow relations to come in way of party interests: Mayawati

Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday accused the opposition parties of hatching a conspiracy to weaken her party and said that relations will not come in the way of the party's interests as long as she is alive.
Mayawati said, "As long as I am alive, I will never let the party weaken due to my personal interests and those of my brothers, sisters, and relatives. In any case, my brothers, sisters, and other relatives are only a part of Bahujan Samaj for me and nothing else."
She said, "Apart from this, whoever from Bahujan Samaj works with full honesty and dedication in the interest of the party and the movement, he will definitely be given a chance to progress in the party and my relations will not come in the way in this matter."
The BSP supremo said, "I would also like to tell that for the last few years, all the casteist, communal and capitalist parties sitting in power and opposition are trying their best to weaken BSP by joining hands with each other because the casteist parties here are still unable to digest the fact that BSP came to power in UP in 2007 on the basis of absolute majority and since then all the casteist and especially anti-Dalit parties are trying to weaken and destroy BSP by using all kinds of tactics."
She said that it is well known that before the formation of the BSP government with absolute majority in 2007 in UP, the Dalits and people of other neglected classes could neither sit on a cot in front of the people of the upper caste castes nor could they muster the courage to sit on a chair equal to theirs, but after the formation of the BSP government with absolute majority in 2007, all this has changed a lot.
Mayawati said that the Prime Minister keeps mentioning his poverty from time to time, but unlike the Dalits and people from other neglected classes, he has never faced any caste discrimination, which our saints, gurus, and great men have faced, and their followers are still facing to a large extent.
Regarding the Waqf Bill, she said that the Parliament session is going on at this time and the politics being done by the ruling and the opposition on the Bill is a matter of concern. "It would have been better if this matter was resolved by consensus in time. The central government must reconsider this matter," she said.
