X Polo Club, IRC win Governor’s Polo trophies

Imphal, April 18 (UNI) X Polo Cup has won the 31st Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament, 2025, while Imphal Riding Club has won the 20th Governor’s Cup Women’s Polo Tournament, 2025.
X Polo Club defeated Manipur Police Sports Club 5 -2 in the final match played here at Mapal Kangjeibung ( Polo ground) on Friday. In the women’s final IRC defeated Assam Rifles Women team 7-6. Both the teams were tied 6-6 in the allotted and extra time was added in which IRC managed to score a golden goal.
Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, along with the First Lady, graced the closing ceremony of the tournament organized by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association.
Following the matches, the Governor and the First Lady distributed prizes to the winners and participants, applauding their skill, sportsmanship, and dedication.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Principal Secretary, Arun Kumar Sinha and H. Deleep Singh, President of the Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association (MHRPA), Brig A Boral, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles among others.
