Yogi inspects under-construction international cricket stadium in Varanasi

Varanasi, Mar 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday conducted an inspection of the international cricket stadium at Ganjari Rajatalab during his visit to Varanasi.
The CM reviewed the stadium model and assessed the ongoing construction work, emphasising the importance of maintaining quality and completing the project within the stipulated time frame.
He directed officials to accelerate the work on a war footing to ensure timely completion.
Officials briefed the CM in detail on the progress of the construction, including drainage systems,
road connectivity, and infrastructure planning.
Yogi also interacted with engineers, labourers and workers from different regions engaged in the project, encouraging them and boosting their morale.
Spanning 30.66 acres with an investment of Rs 451 crore, the international cricket stadium will have a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators. Once completed, it will serve as a premier training hub for young players not only from UP but also from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
Beyond national and international cricket matches, the stadium will feature facilities for badminton, table tennis, and swimming, making it a multi-sport venue. After Kanpur and Lucknow, this will be UP's third stadium to host international cricket matches.
The foundation stone for the stadium was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23.
During the inspection, Cabinet Minister Anil Rajbhar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal, Daya Shankar Mishra 'Dayalu', Mayor Ashok Tiwari, District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, MLAs Saurabh Srivastava and Neelkanth Tiwari, Legislative Council Member Hansraj Vishwakarma and Dharmendra Singh were also present.
