Western Carriers secures Rs 1,089 Cr order from Vedanta

Kolkata, Feb 8 (UNI) Kolkata-based Western Carriers (India) Ltd (WCIL), one of India’s leading private, multimodal, rail-focused, 4PL asset-light logistics companies, has secured a Rs 1,089 crore order from Vedanta Limited.
"This makes it one of the largest orders in the Indian multi-modal logistics industry, reinforcing WCIL’s position as a trusted partner for large-scale, multi-modal supply chain solutions," a company statement said on Saturday.
The four-year contract until 2028 covers the transportation of aluminium ingots, billets, wire rods, pig iron, and EXIM shipments for export. The order includes various multi-modal logistics solutions, including moving goods from Vedanta’s plants in Jharsuguda (Odisha) to key export ports, as well as major domestic hubs pan-India.

Western Carriers has a pan-India presence, with over 50 branch offices and four zonal offices across 23 states.
The company operates 16 warehouses across 12 states and manages over 55 major public rake-handling points nationwide, enabling first-mile and last-mile connectivity even in remote regions.
As of nine months ended FY25, Western Carriers reported Rs 1,297 crores in revenue from operations, with a profit-after-tax (PAT) of Rs 68 crore.

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Thursday reported a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 15,037 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, registering a 15 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) growth, buoyed by strong project execution and improved operational momentum. Consolidated revenues for the year stood at Rs 2,55,734 crore, up 16 per cent y-o-y.
