'BJP has been rejected in 50 districts of UP in MLC polls': Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Oct 30 (UNI) Buoyed by the victory in five seats in the UP Legislative Council elections, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP, saying that "these pompous people" have been thumped in these elections.
"The BJP has lost not just five seats but in 50 districts they were rejected."
He said that the SP won the MLC elections with the support of the people, while the message sent to the public is that the BJP won six seats through fraud.
"Wherever there is conspiracy, there is the BJP," he alleged.
Commenting on union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement in Lucknow on implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state after winning the 2027 elections, the SP president asserted that they would not be able to implement the UCC.
"The 2027 election is going to be an election of brotherhood. These people will be removed forever. The public is not in favor of communal politics."
On the occasion, Akhilesh Yadav made a major announcement regarding women's reservation in the 2027 elections, saying he would give more tickets to women than the BJP.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that the BJP had won six seats dishonestly.
"Had the elections been conducted honestly, the BJP would not have won any seat," he claimed.
He congratulated all the victorious SP members of the Legislative Council.
"This victory proves that the businessmen are with us. Half the population is with us."
He took a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the Varanasi seat loss, saying that "Kashi may sink, but their fraudulent activities will not stop".
Yadav, on the BJP's defeat in Varanasi, said that the double engine govrnment has suffered a double defeat in Varanasi.
"Female teachers voted against the BJP in these elections and said that many officers will now be punished".

He also alleged irregularities in the MLC elections and questioned the 94 percent voter turnout in Amroha.
On this occasion, Akhilesh Yadav targeted the BJP's 10-year rule with alleging that in the last 10 years, 27,000 schools in the state were closed.
"Reservation was looted during the BJP rule. More than 30 papers were leaked in the state. On one hand, schools were closed, while on the other hand, 27,000 liquor shops were opened in the state during the period," he added.
The SP chief rejected Swami Parsad Maurya in his alliance. He angrily declared, "He cannot join our alliance. Avoid him. Keep quiet."
Yadav said biometric verification should be mandatory during elections and once again advocated for ballot papers instead of EVMs.
He said that the world's most developed and prosperous countries, such as the United States and Germany, conduct elections using ballot papers.
The German constitution even considers voting using EVMs unconstitutional.
"I have already stated on the floor of the House that even if the Samajwadi Party wins 80 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats, we will still demand that elections be conducted using ballot papers in the country," he said.
