1,565 UP schools to host 'My Village-My School' programme in November

Lucknow, Sep 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh will organise special 'My Village-My School' programme at 1,565 PM Shri schools across the state in November as part of efforts to strengthen the institutions as centres of education, public participation and community engagement.
A total financial limit of Rs 46.95 lakh has been set for the 1,565 PM Shri schools for the "My Village-My School" programme.
Through the "My Village-My School" programme, efforts are being made to connect PM Shri schools with the local community, increase parental involvement, and provide a platform for children's talent.
This initiative, developed in partnership with schools, families, and the village community, is an important step towards further strengthening PM Shri schools as centres of learning, participation, and development at the local level by linking children's education with social cooperation.
The "My Village-My School" programme will connect the school with its social environment, ensuring the participation of parents, school management committee members, village panchayat representatives, local public representatives, retired officials and employees, teachers, and other local influential individuals.
By bringing them together on a common platform, children's education, enrollment, retention, and learning will be further enriched. The community will also be informed about the school's activities and various holistic education programs.
Activities such as rallies/morning walks, plays and storytelling, poster and artwork exhibitions, and sports competitions will be held. Active participation of children, parents, and the community will be ensured through activities such as signature drives and selfie points.
Guests will also honour outstanding students at the school, which will encourage children's enthusiasm and self-confidence in their achievements.
The event will also feature a signature campaign in support of child rights. This will create awareness among parents and the village community about children's rights and enhance community participation in their education and protection.
Sandeep Singh, UP Minister of State (Independent Charge), Basic Education, said, “Connecting schools with the community is a priority of the PM Shri government. Through the 'My Village – My School' program, schools, parents, and the village community will jointly lay a strong foundation for children's bright futures.”
Monica Rani, Director General, School Education, commented, “The participation of schools and the community will invigorate children's education. The activities in the 'My Village – My School' program will encourage children's talents, learning, and opportunities for growth.”
