2nd day of WAVES begins with a discussion on pan Indian cinema

Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Regardless of language, if a film in India shows human emotions, beautiful acting and a glimpse of Indian culture, it touches the hearts of the audience. It is important that no matter what the language is, it remains Indian cinema, said the south Indian actors and actresses.
A discussion on the topic ‘Pan Indian Cinema Myth or Momentum’ was held at the World Audiovisual Entertainment Conference (WAVES) organized at the Geo World Center in Bandra Kurla Complex on Friday second day of the summit .
Senior actors Anupam Kher, Nagarjuna, Karthi and actress Khushboo Sundar participated in the discussion, while Naman Ramachandran conducted the discussion.
The tone that emerged in the discussion was that the story should be understood by all Indian audiences.
Khushboo said, today the story that appeals to the audience is not different, but its presentation is different, there is not much difference between south and Hindi cinema.
Various actors came from South and not only established themselves in Hindi cinema but also earned a name. The regional language cinema should not be considered different, it is also Indian cinema.
Nagarjuna said that the language of the film is not important; if it has a touch of Indian culture and human emotions, then the film becomes more popular. "Whether the film is Bollywood or Tollywood, it does not matter. Films in various regional languages have been dubbed in Hindi, and are being done," he said.
Anupam Kher said that now actors, directors and technicians are working easily in different languages. This is reducing regional barriers. "I have worked in Telugu, Tamil, but I love Hindi more. There are many changes in South cinema after Covid, but no matter what language it is, it should be seen as Indian cinema," he said.
Kher said films need to be taken to the whole world, not just limited to India.
