60 international shooters have registered for SLI auction: NRAI President

Dehradun, June 25 (UNI) Sixty international athletes and more than 500 domestic qualifiers have registered for the Shooting League of India (SLI) auction till date, National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo said today,
In an exclusive chat with UNI, Deo emphasised that the SLI will further enhance the visibility of shooting which is already booming in India. The NRAI chief was on a visit to the city to oversee the NRAI selection trials 3 group A,
"The league will be the first of its kind in the world, it will be a mix of entertainment and shooting, it will help the players becoming brands onto themselves," he said.
Deo said the franchise and player bidding process will start by August.
The first season of the SLI will have a window between November 20 and December 2, 2025 and feature mixed team events across pistol (10m, 25m), rifle (10m, 50m 3 positions), and shotgun (Trap & Skeet), as outlined by the NRAI Technical Committee.
A minimum of six teams will participate in the competition, divided into two pools during the league stage. Players will be selected and grouped into four tiers- Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior & Youth Champion- to ensure a competitive mix of experience and emerging talent.
